Jeep Parts – Off-Roader Or Soccer Mom, Today’s Jeep is What You Make It

The word "Jeep" is synonymous with Off-Roading and Jeep is synonymous with Daimler-Chysler the company responsible for bringing Jeep to the world. The tough, dependable and fun Jeep has been with us since World War II when the Army first used it. When you hear the word Jeep you get an image right away but today that image is varied because Jeep has many faces. The rugged off-roader is still at the top of the list but now soccer moms and business men own Jeeps too.

Off-roading is tough on a vehicle but the concrete jungle has its rough terrain too. Standing in traffic in the middle of summer, road trips, and pulling your boat or rv come into play too. Therefore, Jeep Parts have to be made as tough as the Jeep and some of the most reputable brands take pride in delivering high quality Jeep Parts. Jeep Parts from Bestop, Rugged Ridge, Pavement Ends, Mopar, Warrior and many others are designed to meet the test of time.

You cannot compare the demands that of an Off-Roader to a Soccer Mom but that doesn't mean that the aftermarket Jeep Parts are taking any of that into account, they all make Jeep Parts with the Jeep reputation in mind.

Jeep owners are not the type to settle, they expect and demand hard working vehicles therefore their Jeep Parts and Accessories have to meet those expectations. Brands like Bestop have been in the business for over 50 years and deliver confidence and quality. Online retailers like Morris 4x4 Center have been in the Jeep business for 20 years and have an inventory of of over 30,000 Jeep Parts and Accessories. They are true blue Jeepers that go off-roading and live and breathe Jeep. As a Jeep owner these are the types of companies that true Jeepers look for and depend on.

Like I mentioned before there are many types of Jeep owners, the Beach Bum will be recognized by the Jeep Bikini Top and the surf board in the back of the jeep. The Soccer Mom or Business man may be more inclined to have a Jeep Cherokee clean and pristine with all the extras, and Jeep can be luxurious. Finally, the off-roader will be the die-hard Jeeper with winches, high lifts, KC-Hilites and Monster Tires. Dirty inside and out and wearing it like a badge of honor.

When we speak about the off-road Jeeper it is important to be equipped for anything that comes up when you're out there. This means that winches, steering stabilizers, lift kits, tires, lights, suspension and much more depending on the terrain. If your jeep has the right Jeep Parts and Accessories it will become an all terrain vehicle, your weekend fun vehicle, the vehicle that takes you to work everyday and the vehicle you have owned that you are the proudest of.

Jeep is an institution, a way of life, a state of mind and anything you want to make it. Make it your own.

Jeep Gladiator History

Where does the Jeep Gladiator fit into the great history of the Jeep line of vehicles. Jeep from its lowly beginnings has risen to the level of a status vehicle for many in the market today.

The Jeep vehicle name started out in the bare bones military unit. Simply designed to meet the rigors of being in the field.

The original JEEP as it was known back in February of 1941 was so named because the vehicle actually did not have a name. In a test drive of the Willys-Overland scout car took a demonstration ride up the Capital steps. When the reporter asked the driver Irving "Red" Haussman the name of the vehicle he said "It's a jeep". The name was then published across the nation in the review article and a new automotive brand was borne.

Willys-Overland inc was awarded the name as it owned the manufacture rights of the first military vehicles. The Jeep went on to nobally serve in World War II. When the soldiers arrived back from the fronts they wanted the Jeeps they had driven during the war.

Willys-Overland was more than willing to produce this grand little car for the common market. The Jeep CJ-2 was the first commercially available vehicle and stayed in basic production through the Jeep CJ-7.

The Jeep CJ-7 was the last military variant of the great Jeep nomenclature. The final Jeep CJ-7 rolled off the production line in the United States in 1987. It was subplanted with the Jeep brand Wrangler or YJ. The YJ for many was designated as the Yuppie Jeep as it had a lower running height and more supple suspension. This Jeep remained in production for 10 years.

In 1997 the YJ was replaced by the current TJ production unit. This unit along with many small tweaks went back to the original Jeeps round headlights. In 2007 the Jeep YJ is slated to be replaced by the Jeep JK model vehicle.

The JK model of vehicles will include three separate variants. The first Jeep variant will be a short wheelbase two door model that will be the direct replacement to the Jeep YJ and hold true to the original form of this model line.

The second model will be a four door variant with a slightly increased wheelbase for those wanting more functionality out of the Jeep. This vehicle should also be better equipped for the less outdoor slanted owner.

The final version will be a pick-up variant Nicknamed the Gladiator. The Jeep Gladiator will feature a slightly extended cab. This will not feature a jump-seat for the kids but allow for storage of small items such as laptops, book-bags, overnight bags, and the like.

The bed of this truck will be 7 foot and perfectly square. This vehicle will be rugged and ready for the trails or a quick camping trip with the buds.

The Jeep has come a long way in the last 60 plus years. This great brand is planning on moving into the future with more memorable vehicles at its back.

Charles love is Jeeps and everything Jeep. As soon as he can get his hands on http://www.jeepgladiator.net he will buy one.

Jeep Commander – One of a Kind SUV

Jeep unveiled it's first seven passenger vehicle in 2005 at the New York Motor Exhibition. This seven passenger vehicle was named Jeep Commander. The first model, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, is almost the same size as the Commander. The advancement in the Commander is it's passenger space.

It has more space and capacity than the Grand Cherokee. The Commander has a different look and style also. An observer can easily identify the deviation from the standard Jeep designs. It looks like a bold attempt at creativity and re-branding.

Jeep is working hard to please its consumers. Todays car buyers have a lot of choice. There are a lot of competitors in seven-seat vehicles. Performance and looks are more important. It pays very well to fuse these two qualities. Especially on seven-seat vehicles. On the overall, customers will not be disappointed in the Jeep Commander. Coincidentally; the name 'Commander' is common among seven-seat car manufacturers. Maybe it sells.

Jeep has high expectations for its Commander model. Its creative design is more likely to attract sales bigger than its past models. Jeep's past models are the Studebaker Commander and Scammell Commander. These two models have less advanced features than the Jeep Commander. The name Commander has been maintained.

The main feature of the Jeep Commander is its moon roof. The Commander roof is tilted to the front. This feature allows the back seat passengers to have more leg space. The boxy appearance of the Commander is well proportioned. An equal balance between aesthetics and functionality. The Commander sports a modern look which doesn't compromise its passenger capacity.

The old Jeep Wagoner has an external appearance which is slightly similar to the Jeep Commander. It's amazing how the engineers blended the characteristics of the Jeep Wagoner with those of the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee inspired the development of the Jeep Commander. Features borrowed from the Grand Cherokee are not easily identifiable because of the stark difference in external appearance. They are more internal than external. This includes performance and power.

We haven't started discussing the Jeep Commander, until we talk about engine power. The Commander comes with three choices of engines. These are the V6 and two types of V8 engines. The first V8 engine has a capacity of 5. 7 liters. The second V8 engine has a capacity of 3. 7 liters. This engine package is convenient for different types of consumers. Types of drivers ranging from speed maniacs, rough terrain travellers and luggage packers will find it easy to select the proper engine. A note to speed lovers, the Commander is not made for speed though.

Frequent travellers like SUVs. The size of the Jeep Commander is unlike any known SUV. If you are travelling with family, you will find this vehicle convenient. Teams and groups of travellers will fit quite well in this seven seater vehicle. More so if you are going for an outdoor expedition or game park. The Commander can traverse sandy plains, rocky trail roads, and muddy roads.

The Jeep Commander has not broken a record. The critics say. True, there is no new feature on the Commander, but it has succeeded in bringing affordability, economy, style and comfort on one plate. There is a market for this kind of vehicle, especially in this recession. A lot of SUVs on the market do not provide this convenience. The Commander came late on the scene. Jeep explains that the delay was due to specific refinements. Refinements on capacity and passenger seating. Sure, its hard to provide comfort on a seven passenger seat vehicle, but Jeep succeeded in this regard.

SUV fans and consumers are enthusiastic about the next generation of Jeep Commanders. The Commander makers have one thing to brag about. The capacity of the Commander. No SUV can beat the Commander in this regard. At the same, they know that the Commander is not a vehicle that causes envy. It is such a simple vehicle with standard features. Rival SUVs boast of advanced features that put them ahead of the competition. Jeep has begun to modify the Commander, slowly but surely. The Jeep Commander Overland has been furnished with platinum plating. Its side moulds, side roof, rear assist and grilles are all platinum. A power lift gate has been introduced as well.

The Jeep Commander made disappointing sales in the year 2007. What was the reason? Was it lagging behind in advanced features? Maybe the consumers were looking for something better than the Commander? Overall sales of the Jeep range increased by 8%. Sales reports for February 2007 show an increase in sales for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Compass. These were the biggest earners of the company. The Jeep Wrangler had a massive 63% increase in sales, followed behind by the Jeep Compass which sold more than 4000 units. The bad performers were the Commander, the Jeep Liberty and the Grand Cherokee. Sales for the Liberty went down a whopping 41%. The Commander sales went down by 24% and the Grand Cherokee by 22%.
